The land division of Totana Town is made by means of “pedanias” and “diputaciones” (dependant villages). Those ones let Public Administration be given out, following the necessities and demands of the populated areas in our town.
The existing dependant villages are: Sierra, Lebor, Morti, Raiguero, Paretón, Huerta, Viñas, Ñorica. Their importance lies in several factors:
They are a system of integration and political participation of those population centres.
They let establish, in them, some administrative facilities, suitable for their inhabitants’ necessities.
They bring near Municipal Administration by means of their Mayors. Making easier the proximity of Town Hall to realize administrative procedures and requests to Local Government.
This page tries to collect their aspirations and their main data.
It is tried that they have more participation day by day. So, there are two Advisory Committees in Town Hall: “Local Committee of Pareton’s Neighbours” and “Junta de Pedaneos” (Dependant Villages’ Mayors Committee). Also, it has been established some administrative units, like in Pareton, and they are being given some services gradually, according to their population.
Now, this page includes minimum data about the said dependant villages. It will be extended, progressively, with all the existing information about them.
